After a short public hearing Tuesday evening, the Lakeport City Council approved a rate hike of 13.52% effective October 1st for Lakeport Disposal, which handles garbage, recycling, and green waste. The new monthly rates will be $19.91 for a 20-gallon container; $29.40 for a 32-gallon container; and $86.48 for a 95-gallon container. The council also approved an agreement between the city and Lake County Health Services Department to use the Lakeport Silveira Community Center and its parking lot during disasters.
