Ukiah Police officers conducting routine security checks of businesses on Airport Park Boulevard over the weekend noticed a tent occupied by a man just south of the Sourdough Bread Company. When officers approached the man began acting suspiciously, provided false identification, and prompted officers to check the tent. Officers found a loaded flare gun, pepper spray, methamphetamine, and a homemade explosive device. The officers arrested Kenneth Lindaas on outstanding warrants and called the bomb squad. Bomb squad deputies said the explosive device was very sensitive, removed it, and detonated it safely.
