A pipe bomb discovered in the mailbox of a home south of Ukiah was sucessfully removed and rendered inert by the Mendocino County Bomb Squad late last week. The resident of the property had been away for several weeks, and was unsure of who might have placed it. The device is being inspected and investigation into the incident is ongoing.
