The former payroll manager for Mendocino County, Paula June Kennedy, has requested mental health diversion from prosecution of the charge of misappropriation of public funds along with suspended Auditor Chamise Cubbison. According to MendoFever, a report by a forensic psychologist, shows Kennedy to be suffering from anxiety, and depression after being suspended and publicly labeled a thief. Kennedy was offered a plea deal early on if she admitted to misdemeanor activity, which she refused. Kennedy is said to now be prepared to waive her right to a speedy trial and comply with any court ordered treatment as a condition of diversion. The judge in the case will consider the motion at a hearing scheduled for the 15th.
