New Heat Records for Lake County

Lake County broke heat records in July. The National Weather Service-Eureka office has analyzed data from long-term weather stations in the county, including those used to monitor fire weather, some in place since 1995. The four hottest days of July in Lake County were the 6th, at 112 degrees, the 7th at 110), the 5th at 109 degrees and the 13th at 108 degrees. July 3rd to the 13 had an average daily high of 107 degrees. From July 1st through the 13th, there were 12 days in a row over 100 degrees in the area, which broke the record set in 2002.
