Fire Restrictions in Area Due to Increasing Fire Danger

The Mendocino Unit of Cal Fire and the National Forest Service have issued fire restrictions due to increasing fire danger. Cal Fire has suspended residential outdoor burn permits, putting a hold on “all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves. That suspension doesn’t apply to campfires with organized campgrounds or on private property. Campfires are permitted if maintained properly. The National Forest Service has issued fire restrictions through the rest of the 2024 season. Campfires in wilderness areas are only allowed with a valid state campfire permit.
