Lake County Reaches Agreement With Mendocino County to House Youth Offenders

Lake County has reached an agreement with Mendocino County in which youth who are in custody will be housed in the neighboring county. Lake County has contracted with Mendocino County to house juvenile offenders since the Lake County Juvenile Hall closed in 2015. In 2017, Lake County moved those offenders to Tehama County and has also been using the facilities in Butte, Mendocino, and the Tri-County Hall in Yuba County. As of July 3rd, youth in custody will mainly be housed in Mendocino County.
