An elderly woman has died in a single-car crash near Lakeport. Wednesday afternoon, CHP was called to the scene of a pickup truck traveling northbound on Highway 29. Investigation shows the vehicle veered across the center median, went through a barbed wire fence, traveled across Mountainview Road, and over an embankment. The truck then crashed into a tree. The unidentified driver was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Identification is pending notification of relatives.
