Clearlake City Council Holds Discussion on Consolidating Water Districts

At the most recent meeting of the Clearlake City Council, the group discussed the city’s water providers and the possibility of consolidation. City Manager Alan Flora introduced Robert Roscoe with GEI Consultants, who shared the makeup of the area’s water infrastructure. Three separate entities provide water to the area, and Roscoe compared water quality, accessibility, affordability, and ability to consistently provide safe drinking water. There was a great deal of public response to the discussion, including a petition opposing any governmental takeover of local water districts. The meeting ran long due to public comment and the item was tabled for a future agenda.
