Skeletal remains discovered in 1979 in the area of Hwy 175 between the Lake and Mendocino County lines have been identified. Periodically, the cold case was looked at, and last year, using a private DNA lab, state-of-the-art testing was done on the remains and a potential match was found, however, it wasn’t until this year that a second match was found that could be traced to a relative. Jane Doe from 1979 was Wanda Lee Brewer from Carson. Anyone with information regarding what happened to Wanda Lee Brewer is asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
