At the most recent meeting of the Lake County Board of Supervisors, increases to fire mitigation fees were discussed. Those fees have not been raised for 31 years, and with rising costs and studies identifying the ever-increasing needs of the fire districts, the board passed the motion to raise the fees on a sliding scale with increases ranging from .$50 to $1.42 per square foot. The board will revisit the matter at its next meeting on June 4th.
