Kelseyville Unified School District Compromises on Proposed Resolution

A compromise decision regarding a proposed resolution by the Kelseyville Unified School District was reached Tuesday night after a special meeting of the school district’s board of trustees. The crowd of about 150 attending the meeting expressed concerns over the resolution’s language, including a land acknowledgment at major school events and verbiage that alluded to changing the name of the town of Kelseyville. Instead, the land acknowledgment alone will be used and will have the input of the senior class and seniors in the High School’s Native American Club. The rest of the resolution regarding the town’s name has been tabled for the foreseeable future.
