Discussion at the most recent city council meeting regarding the Historic Palace Hotel in Ukiah was tabled this week. City Manager Sage Sangiacomo halted discussion of a pending permit application, saying the topic was not on the agenda, which put a halt to the conversation by council members Mari Rodin and Doug Crane, and Tom Carter, a contractor interested in buying and saving the Palace. The City Manager and Deputy Manager said they hadn’t had time to study the application due to a heavy schedule. Whatever the contents of the permit application from building owner Jitu Ishwar, the fate of the historic building is mostly likely in that document.
