The first ever California Adopt a Pet Day will be held tomorrow, Saturday, June 1st. The statewide adoption day will have more than 150 state animal welfare sites offering free adoptions to find homes for over 2000 shelter pets. Lake County Animal Care and Control has 35 dogs and one cat listed up for adoption. The event is put on and sanctioned by the California Animal Welfare Association, the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
