Mendocino County Man to Stand Trial in Death of Girlfriend’s Toddler

A Mendocino County man has been ordered to stand trial in the 2022 death of a child. Judge Victoria Shanahan ruled as Edward Two Feathers Steele stood for his preliminary hearing on the 5th of this month in Mendocino County Superior Court. Steele is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of child cruelty after he lost track of his girlfriend’s two-year-old and 13-month-old children. The younger of the two was found dead. Steele is scheduled to appear in court on the 25th to hear his trial date. Steele faces at least 15 years to life in prison.
