Anonymous Letter Leads to Illegal Weapons Bust

An anonymous letter alleging domestic violence against a Ukiah has resulted in that man’s arrest for possession of a cache of illegal firearms. The letter, sent to the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors stated that Blake Cox assaulted his 20-year-old wife while she was holding their small child. An investigation was begun and after Cox was stopped by UPD, he was arrested and his wife was provided with domestic violence resources. A warrant was obtained to search the Cox home and the UPD Detective Bureau found a total of 37 firearms including 12 found to be illegal. Cox was booked into the Mendocino County jail on a number of weapons charges.
