The third pedestrian death in Lake County this month was Wednesday night. CHP says the accident happened early evening Wednesday on Highway 20 west of Benton Avenue in Nice. Conditions were dark and rainy when a 67-year-old woman from Nice was struck when she walked directly into the eastbound lane of traffic. Medics arrived and rendered life saving measures, but the woman died of her injuries. Identification is pending notification of next of kin.
