The Lake County Board of Supervisors has approved a letter to the California Public Utilities Commission, asking that a plan by AT&T to discontinue landline phone service to residents in Lake County and across the state be denied. AT&T filed a document with the CPUC in December seeking relief from its “carrier of last resort,” obligations across the state. Congressman Mike Thompson last week signed a bipartisan letter to the CPUC urging the commission to reject the request.
