A stolen car report ended up in a short high-speed chase before the thief was caught. A Honda Civic was called in as stolen from a taco shop on State Street in Ukiah. California Highway Patrol engaged in pursuit of the vehicle for a short time. UPD’s license plate reader spotted the vehicle and officers attempted a stop. The driver fled and pulled into a parking lot where he was apprehended with the help of a K-9 officer. Juan Sanchez Montiel was captured and booked into the Mendocino County Jail.
