All three police departments in Mendocino County have hired new officers. The Ukiah Police Department has hired Officer August Kinney. Kinney has worked in law enforcement for six years, including serving as a deputy in the Mendocino County Sheriff’s office. Officer Jason Chapman also returns to the UPD after serving in the Mendocino County Sheriff’s office. In Willits, Officer Jaime Cary has completed her training program and will now begin on-the-job training. Fort Bragg has hired Austin Hopper, who begins study at the Police Academy in Eureka.
