A long-time Mendocino County resident and member of the Cahto tribe in Laytonville has been killed. MendoFever reports San Francisco police have released a statement identifying Brandon Mitchell and his girlfriend as having been stabbed during an altercation in San Francisco on December 18th. Mitchell and his girlfriend had been living on the street. Mitchell’s girlfriend survived and is the sole witness to the attack, although SF PD did locate surveillance video. There is also an unconfirmed report that a suspect has been taken into custody. Funeral services for Brandon Mitchell were held in Laytonville last Saturday.
