At its most recent meeting, the Lakeport City Council decided not to allow cannabis retail stores or cannabis events in the city. TheDailyJournal reports there was interest voiced in opening a storefront within the city limits. The council directed staff to not update existing cannabis ordinances. The current municipal code allows for commercial cultivation, testing, distribution, manufacturing, and some retail activity. The council also approved a contract with Bob Hall and Associates to launch recruitment efforts to replace Chief Brad Rasmussen, who retires in the fall.
