The Lakeport City Council meets tomorrow at 6 p.m. The meeting will begin with the declaration of Human Trafficking Awareness Month in the city. The board will also consider a contract with a headhunting company to recruit a new chief of police and approve the expenditure of that company’s fee. Chief Brad Rasmussen plans to retire this fall. The council will also hold a study session on retail storefront cannabis businesses and temporary events to decide whether the city should permit such operations and events. The council will also hear an extension of the automated license plate reader contract and a first-quarter financial update.
