Lake County Included in State Funding to Help Fight Food Insecurity

Two projects that address food insecurity in Lake County have been included in the roughly $9 million in grants through the Healthy Refrigeration Grant Program administered by the California Department of Food and Agriculture.  As reported by TheLakeCountyNews, the   Redwood Empire Food Bank, which serves Lake, and Mendocino counties, has received $200,000 to replace or supplement existing refrigeration capacity. The Kelseyville Food Pantry, which has operated since 2012, serves all of Lake County, focusing on the greater Kelseyville and Lakeport areas,  has been awarded $5,238 which will purchase one standalone refrigerator and one freezer.
