The City of Clearlake is looking for a way forward with the Burns Valley Sports Complex after being faced with rising construction costs. TheLakeCountyNews reports at the city council meeting on the 7th, City Manager Alan Flora said the complex is critical to the future of the city and the region. Updated cost estimates of almost $19 million dollars, which doesn’t include the rec center itself are double what the city has available and initially estimated. The city is also in litigation over the project. There are grant possibilities and sponsorship options, both of which the council agreed needed investigating.
