The National Weather Service has put out a beach hazards statement for the Mendocino coast and coastal areas north through tomorrow. Sneaker waves are a possibility, large, unexpected waves can sweep across beaches, jetties, and rock areas, sweeping anyone on them into the sea. Avoid steep beaches, stay further back from the water, and don’t turn your back to the ocean.
