The use of a bodycam intended to assure the safety of an inspections officer has brought forward the question of a business owners right to privacy and where that right begins and ends. According to the operators of Pillsbury Family Farms in Potter Valley, code enforcement officer Linda Rosas-Bill did not obtain permission to record during her annual compliance visit to their farm, which they object to. Although the visit did result in requiring the owners to comply on a number of issues, none of which were high severity violations, the owners contend it is the lack of request for permission to record that they object to, not that they are being required to comply.
