The Ukiah City Planning Commission has voted to recommend continued annexation of the Western Hills, with a cap on the number of parcels available for development. MendocinoPublicBroadcasting reports there are concerns regarding the parcel, which is listed as red on the California fire map, ranked as the highest fire severity zone in the state. The City Planner assured those on hand that the development would be subject to stringent standards. The city will continue to discuss the issue when it meets on December 6th.
