State Senator Mike McGwire has announced the state is investing $1 million into launching the Mendocino Construction Corps, designed to introduce high school students to the trades, like building, plumbing, electrical, etc. The Mendocino corps will be modeled after the North Bay Construction Corps which has helped hundreds of students in Lake and Mendocino County train and find employment in the trades. The state funds will allow a coordinator to be hired who will oversee the launch of the program. The funds are expected to cover the cost of the program for the next five years.
