Late last week, PG&E put for an initial plan for the surrender of the Potter Valley Project. MendoFever reports the 94 page document included a proposal for the continued diversion of water from the Eel River into the Russian River. If the diversion is to continue, a regional entity would have to be formed with the legal and financial capacity to be responsible for the facility. The plan is available to the public review and comment through December 22nd. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will rule on the final decommissioning plan sometime in 2025.
