A Mendocino woman has died in a single vehicle crash. Sometime in the early hours of Thursday morning, a vehicle driven by Erica Gonzalez was traveling east on SR 253 when it ran off the road and traveled some 400 feet down a steep embankment, hitting a tree and a dirt road then rolled several times. Gonzalez was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. It does not appear that impairment played a part in the accident. An investigation is underway.
