Cubbison and Kennedy Arraignment Postponed, Cubbison’s Attorney Chastises Board

Yesterday, supporters filled the courtroom as Auditor Chamise Cubbison and former payroll manager Paula June Kennedy stood before Judge Keith Faulder. According to TheUkiahDailyJournal, the crowd was so large the judge allowed observers to sit in the jury box. Kennedy’s public defender asked the court for a delay in order to review investigative reports. The arraignment of both women has been postponed to the 29th of this month. Later on, some of the same supporters were present as Cubbison’s attorney, Chris Andrian, said the board had denied Cubbison due process and damaged her reputation based only on DA David Eyster’s decision to file charges. Andrian stated that the suspension of Cubbison by the board underscored the fact that the case is very weak and complicated due to the adversarial relationship between the two. After hearing from attorneys for both women and some of their supporters, the board refused to rescind Cubbison’s suspension.
