Embattled County Auditor/Treasurer Chamis Cubbison’s attorney has asked the Mendocino County District Attorney David Eyster to recuse himself from prosecution of Cubbison, saying that the adversarial relationship between the two sets the stage for civil litigation down the line and would be a conflict of interest. Attorney Chris Andrian filed a motion on Cubbison’s behalf by Andrian states just that. A hearing on the motion has been scheduled for December 19th. Cubbison is the third auditor who has questioned DA Eyster’s record of spending while in office.
