The Ukiah City Council will meet in a special session on Wednesday to consider a resolution approving the recommendation that the building be razed. Mendofever reports the building has been in receivership since 2019, and although the building is on the national register of historic buildings, inspections of the structure state that demolishing the building is the only safe thing to do, as the building is a threat to public safety. There will be a public comment period on the matter during the meeting.
