A death at the warming center in Lakeport is under investigation. TheLakeCountyNews reports the Lake County Sheriff’s office and the coroner were called after a male shelter guest was found dead in his bed in the early morning hours. The decendent was know by the staff to be a respectful guest, following the rules of the shelter. The Sheriff’s Office is working to locate his next of kin, so his identity is being withheld. An autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death. There was no evidence of foul play. This is the first time a guest has died at the shelter.
