A Clearlake man has been arrested for setting a fire in Lakeport. Cameron Bates had been released from the Lake County Jail earlier in the day yesterday and at around noon, a wildfire was reported around Lakeport Boulevard and Highway 20. TheLakeCountyNews reports the Lakeport, Kelseyville, and Northshore Fire Districts all responded. Witnesses say they saw Bates setting that fire and trying to set another fire on the northeast side of the Chamber of Commerce building. Cameron Bates was charged with arson of wildland, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property.
