Ukiah Wins Competitive Grant to Help Build Resiliency

The city of Ukiah has received a grant of just under a million dollars from CalOES under the Prepare California Jumpstart initiative, a competitive grant program that provides funding to eligible socially vulnerable and high-hazard risk communities. The funding will help strengthen Ukiah’s resilience efforts, enhancing the city’s ability to coordinate plants and response efforts and to secure funding for long-term measures that will reduce risk and improve preparedness. The funding will allow for a new Chief Resilience Officer position in the city as well.
