Showers This Weekend Could Help Firefighters, Clear the Air

Showers expected over the weekend are hoped to help wash some of the haze from burning wildfires away. The Eureka office of the National Weather Service says storm motion is expected to be slow, the best chance of thunderstorms should be today and tomorrow, some of which could bring locally heavy rainfall. Until those showers arrive, the Red Flag warning for northeastern Mendocino County, including Round Valley and Covelo stands. Mendocino County and the north coast could continue to face some unhealthy air quality through the Labor Day weekend.
