A Mendocino County man was arrested for fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run accident. TheWillitsNews reports Earl Castillo of Leggest, hit and killed a Sacramento man near the entrance of Richardson Grove State Park in Garberville on the 20th. Vehicle parts left at the scene, which allowed the CHP to identify Castillo’s vehicle. He was captured after a short chase. He was booked into Humboldt County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, vehicular manslaughter, hit and run, and violating his probation. The CHP notes that “due to the nature of the crash and charges, a bail enhancement was requested and granted.”
