Inspection for hot spots and mop-up work continued overnight after a fast-moving fire that started near Lower Lake yesterday. The Creek Fire was first reported shortly after 3:30 according to TheLakeCountyNews in the 10700 block of Clayton Creek Road. Within just a few minutes of dispatch, the fire had spread to almost 5 acres and was moving fast, sending off spot fires along Highway 29. Lake County Fire as well as CalFire engines, air tankers and air attack as well as other agencies responded. At one point, four areas of the evacuation map were notified to leave. At around 5 the fire was 28 acres and 30% contained. Evacuation orders were lifted around 6:30.
