Owners of Gas Stations in Several Counties Fined

A settlement has been reached in the environmental protection case brought against the owners of several Fast and Easy gas stations in the area. The owners have been ordered to pay $1.1 million in penalties and investigative costs, after allegations that they failed to adhere to state laws regarding the operations of their gas stations in Lake, Alameda, Napa, San Joaquin and Yolo counties. The settlement also prohibits the defendants from violating those laws again and requires them to have an experienced independent environmental consultant to oversee compliance for their stations.
