As of September 1st, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced that nearshore Rockfish harvesting will be closed. The announcement says the 50-fathom Rockfish Conservation Area boundary line for the Mendocino Groundfish Management Area will be in force. In that area, fishing for rockfish will be offshore only. The boundary was originally supposed to be enforced starting mid-September.
