Mendocino County’s use of opiod settlement funds is in the national eye. TheWillitsNews reports that last year, the board of supervisors decided to use just over $63,000 of opioid settlement money to cover some budget shortfalls. A national newsroom that covers issues of health care has said that the county’s “reporting requirements are scant and documents filed so far are often so vague as to be useless.” Supervisors have expressed concern regarding the perception of the county’s use of the funding.
