West Nile Virus Detected in Mosquito Samples in Lake County

Although no human cases have been reported in the state or the area, two samples of mosquitos collected near Lakeport and Kelseyville in Lake County have tested positive for the West Nile Virus. The virus shows up every year in the county, according to the district manager and research director of the Lake County Vector Control District. The positive sample is a reminder to residents to practice good mosquito hygiene and to remember to use repellent when outdoors. Find more information at westnile.ca.gov.
