A report of an intoxicated man that was sighted on the bluffs near Portuguese Beach and then fell into the sea is being investigated. Mendofever reports State Parks Chief Ranger Loren Rex who oversees the Sonoma-Mendocino Coast District said a report by a visitor said they saw the man on the bluffs and then saw him later floating face down in the water. It is thought the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the man’s identity. Search and rescue was dispatched to the area, including a helicopter to search but so far no sighting or recovery has been reported. It’s thought the body may have washed out to sea. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mendocino County Sheriff’s office.
