The city of Lakeport reminds residents that Lakeport is the only area in Lake County where safe and sane fireworks are legally allowed to be sold and used. Fireworks may only be discharged from July 1st through the 4th. Use of fireworks on private property, such as shopping centers, is only allowed by permission of the property owner. A safe firework area will be set up at the end of Fourth Street near Clear Lake. In all other areas of Lake County all fireworks are illegal and a zero tolerance policy is being maintained.
