Clearlake City Council Hears Report on City Animal Shelter

In a report from Lt. Ryan Peterson on the city’s animal shelter, the Clearlake City Council heard ten specific allegations as well as five additional findings of concern. TheLakeCountyNews reports Peterson presented the 95 page report, which included interviews with concerned citizens, volunteers, employees of the shelter and professionals, including a veterinarian. During discussion, Supervisor Bruno Sabatier recommended having a conversation with the city and Jonathan Armas, director of Lake County Animal Care and Control. Although some present praised the report, others present said the investigation should have been done by an unbiased outside source.
