Local Projects Receive Grants from Dept. of Forestry and Fire Protection

The Eel River Recovery/Tenmile Creek Watershed Forest Health Project Mendocino has been awarded $5.9 million out of $142 million from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. TheUkiahDaily Journal reports $7 million has been awarded to the Clear Lake Environmental Research Center North Shore Restoration, which will protest seven areas of Clear Lake adjacent to the Mendocino National Forest. This summer, CalFire expects to give additional grant funding to Wildfire Prevention and Tribal Wildfire Resilience.
