Man Suspected in Murder of Round Valley Man Captured

The suspect in the murder of a 20-year-old Round Valley man has been captured. Mendofever reports after nearly a month of avoiding capture, Lee Anthony Joaquin was arrested after being stopped for speeding yesterday between Ukiah and Hopland. Nickolas Shehli Whipple was found badly beaten and shot to death earlier in the month. Joaquin was stopped for speeding, gave a false name of officers, and was arrested for speeding and for having about 20 pounds of marijuana in the car he was driving. It was only after Joaquin was taken to the Mendocino County Jail that his true identity was discovered. He remains in the Mendocino County Jail on a number of charges including murder.
