Lake County Board of Supers Approves Contract for Initial Phase of New Sheriff’s Office

The Lake County Board of Supervisors at their meeting yesterday unanimously approved a contract of just under $250,000 for the redesign of the former National Guard Armory in Lakeport into the future headquarters of the Lake County Sheriff’s office. The LakeCountyNews reports the county acquired the armory last year in a land swap with the state. Public Services Director Lars Ewing presented the agreement with Dewberry Architects, Inc. for preliminary design services to the board in an adaptive reuse of the building. As long as Dewberry is performing satisfactorily, the firm will probably be retained for the next phase of the project.
